JASMIN HILL ART STUDIO BRAND IDENTITY
Jasmine Hill Art Studio and Gallery is a small business located in Wetumpka, AL, offering art classes and various other services from custom framing to after school art clubs. The studio has been operating for over thirty years and is well known within the community of Wetumpka but would like to reach a wider audience. Jasmine Hill Art Studio believes that art should be fun and approachable and provides a welcoming and supportive environment to artists of every age and skill level.
*This project was completed with the permission of Jasmine Hill Art Studio. The studio had no existing logo, website, or consistent brand identity. While the project was conducted based on the client’s needs and goals, to preserve creative freedom, final decisions were not reviewed or approved by Jasmine Hill Art Studio.
LOGO DEVELOPMENT
Initial logo designs focused on artist’s utensils and geometric, star-shaped color wheel flowers inspired by jasmine blossoms. Since palletes and brushes are frequently used in fine art logos, the flower version was selected for further development. The “jasmine” flower also helped tie the studio’s name to the logo, making it more recognizable and memorable. Several versions of the color wheel flower were developed. A pointed version was eventually chosen for its angular, less literal shape, and a watercolor texture was added for a modern “artsy” feel. The final logo features the textured flower and a squared geometric font. The overall tone is fun, modern, and playful. The text was stacked into a square to continue the playful, geometric theme.
BUSINESS CARD
The square business card reinforces the squared logo, and the bright colors pop off of the matte black background.
LETTERHEAD & ENVELOPE
The letterhead & envelope continue the fun, playful theme, juxtaposing the bright colors of the logo with black. The placement of the tag on the back flap of the envelope ensures a bright pop of color on both sides. The inside of the envelope is printed with the same watercolor texture used in the logo for a colorful surprise when opened.
STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHY
Since the studio space is small and cluttered, the compositions focus on capturing close-up action and emotion rather than the classroom as a whole. The photographs were taken at the studio during actual class times to capture the excitement and warmth of a day at Jasmine Hill Art Studio.
WEB DESIGN
The website is designed to be fully responsive from desktop to smartphone, using bold colors and eye-catching images to capture users’ attention and guide them through the site.
